Knight-Hennessy Scholars Application Deadline

The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program will annually identify a group of 100 high-achieving students from around the world with demonstrated leadership and civic commitment to receive full funding to pursue a wide-ranging graduate education at Stanford, with the goal of developing a new generation of global leaders. 

Apply by September 27, 2017 and enroll at Stanford in September 2018.

IPS Program Application Deadline

We are finalizing the application deadline for the 2019-20 academic year and will post it once confirmed.  Applicants who are offered admission to IPS may matriculate in Autumn Quarter only in a given academic year.

Please visit Graduate Admissions to apply to IPS. The online application for the 2019-20 academic year will be available TBD. We will update this once dates are confirmed.  There is a non-refundable $125 application fee.

Application Requirements

  • Statement of Purpose

  • Three Letters of Recommendation

  • Official Transcripts

    • One transcript must be scanned and uploaded to the online application

    • Two official transcripts must be sent to IPS (see mailing address below)

  • Official GRE Scores (sent via ETS)

  • TOEFL Scores (sent via ETS)

    • Required for international applicants whose primary language is not English

  • Writing Sample

    • Academic writing sample, in English

      • 7-15 pages, double-spaced

      • Topic should be related to international policy; however, a piece of analytical writing in another field is acceptable

  • Resume/CV

Admissions Timeline

SEPTEMBER

JANUARY

  • IPS Application Deadline: Tuesday, January 9, 2018

    • All materials must be submitted by 11:59 pm PST

  • Application processing: January 11−31, 2018

    • Applicants should log into the application system to check their application status; please view the “Checklist” tab.

FEBRUARY

  • Admissions Committee application review

MARCH

  • Decision letters sent to applicants by March 15 (via email)

APRIL

  • “Admit Day” held in early April for admitted students

  • Offer of admission decisions due (earlier deadlines apply to admits with fellowship offers)
